Research and Data Analyst

Role Summary: The Research and Data Analyst will play a crucial role in driving data-driven decision-making and optimizing operations within the waste recycling company. This position involves collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting large volumes of data to identify trends, patterns, and insights. 

Responsibilities:

Data Collection and Management:

Collect and organize data from various sources, including operational systems and external databases.

Ensure data quality and accuracy through thorough cleaning and validation processes.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

Utilize statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.

Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in waste generation, recycling rates, and material recovery.

Develop predictive models to forecast future trends and optimize resource allocation.

Business Intelligence:

Create interactive dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.

Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including management, operations teams, and investors.

Research and Innovation:

Conduct research on emerging technologies and industry best practices to identify opportunities for innovation.

Process Optimization:

Analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the recycling process.

Develop data-driven recommendations to improve resource utilization, reduce downtime, and enhance productivity.

Monitor the impact of implemented changes and measure the resulting improvements in key metrics.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).

Experience with machine learning and statistical modeling techniques.

Knowledge or interest in waste management principles and recycling processes.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey insights to diverse audiences.

Detail-oriented and organized approach to data management and analysis.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
